a girls day of fun

So I wanted to share a day (a few weeks ago) when I went out with a friend, Ali. I’ve known her since I was attending VSAA for my senior year, she’s a few years younger than me, but I think we took dance together and had the same group of friends.

She texted me again (for the third time) about dragging me taking me  to Zumba to try it out and join her on a guest pass. I cringed.
No, not because I didn’t wanna go-because I did, a lot! But I was scared and afraid of failure or looking ridiculously stupid. As a former dancer that’s kind of a no-no. We are all about the pride. You also must know that trying Zumba at least once is on my 100 in 1000 list (which has been like years in the making but oh well…).

She had a few personal errands to do this day so I tagged along with no objections, I figured if anything she would be a total sweetheart and cover lunch for me. WHICH SHE DID.
First, we went to the nail salon to get her fill on her acyrilcs done and as we walked in the technicans kept askiing me if I wanted anything and I quietly said no thank you. However Ali offered and started to insist that I could get a basic/gel  manicure and I speedily said “okay, I haven’t tried one before.”
I picked out  a muted kinda grey based green-teal. It was pretty!

We were at opposite sides of the room but we texted each other about what we were doing for lunch and we simutaniously decided on #sushi. Because it’s amazing! & it sounded so amazingly good at the time.

So we drove to go get lunch at a  local sushi place that I haven’t been to before, just different things on the menu and I was feeling more open to trying new things. So I had a shrimp/crab/sweet sauce roll and a couple of plates of them later I was (totally) hooked. I wasexceedingly full and just was so content with what I had just consumed, I walked out smiling.

She wanted to go check out a new phone since hers’ was way outdated and she was due for an upgrade. We went in and she had the Galaxy S3 and the S5 just came out- so she asked if it was possible and they said yes. We got her all set up with a new phone, transferred all her stuff and she couldn’t decide on a case. Black. Pink.White. Pink.
She was soo excited to finally get that phone- it was like a shiny new toy, don’t get me wrong- we all feel that way with a new phone. She walked out with a Galaxy S5 and she loves it!

Then we grabbed Starbucks and killed some time by waiting in a parking lot for a lady to sell her a fitness shirt who never showed up. We went and stopped by her house to get her an overnight bag and change for Zumba. Her dad was home and he welcomed me in with open arms and told me I was “welcome anytime” and “to make myself at home”. So I did. I saw her room where she stays in Vancouver, it was super nice and decorated just how I would expect (i.e lots of Elvis…). Eventually we were on our way to tanning before Zumba. So she took us to the local tanning salon that she goes to. The owner was really nice and set me up with a medium bed and a lot amount of time, like 8 minutes. I slathered myself in nice coconut smelling, thick lotion. I flipped on the radio, got in and baked for a bit until I came out all happy and full of endorphins.

I was so ready for Zumba! We wandered in and signed me up with a guest pass until I decide to get my own membership. The room was upstairs, they had already started and the music was blasting. I jumped right in behind the line with Ali. She started following along and well the whole time I did the best I could. It was very fast paced and some parts I got lost but it wasn’t as bad as I thought. I would definetly do it again! Afterwards, we decided to stay in the room after everyone left to dance around and practice (mostly just mess around). It was so much fun! She showed me her dance she choreographed and it was so great looking. I can see her doing that professionally!

We headed home and stopped by Taco Bell and I was so happy to know the chicken rolled tacos were back. I ate and scarfed it down on the way-it was so good, we blasted music and talked about how great the day had been. We complained about our “significant others” on the way home, had girl talk and just vented to each other. I got home so happy that I had tried something new and loved it! I’ll keep this in mind next time I say no to something. And maybe then I’ll give it a shot and try it anyway.

Today, we have a guest post-Taush.O!

So the favor was returned…. I did a Q&A for Tausha last on Monday, so today she’s doing a fun one for me! She’s a sweet, geniune, smart and funny gal and a wonderful momma to Presley and Dex (her dog)!
Hold on tight and keep reading! Please leave some beautiful comments for her~

1// What is your favorite part of being a mother to Presley? What are you most looking forward to as she grows up?
Tausha:  Is it horrible that my first thought is the fact that I get to stay home in my PJS all day, chasing her around the couch & listening to her squeal? I love being a Mother to Presley because she’s been a HARD child – and she has taught me a lot about myself. I’m so excited for her to talk more, she only says a few words right now (we are starting to work with a specialist to determine the possible cause for her speech delay). I cannot wait to just talk to her all day, to hear her imagination & to answer all of her questions.

2// If you had a boy what would you name him? And why?
Tausha: Oh man. I actually reallllllly wanted a boy first – I’ve got sooooo many boy names. My top are Declan, Titan, Ethan, Ruxin, Damien, Brayden, Hunter, Logan….I could go on forever. My absolute favorite is Declan. It was a characters name on the tv series Revenge & as soon as I heard it, I absolutely fell in love. The hubby doesn’t like it too much so that might take some coaxing. We are just starting to talk about the possibility of baby #2, so we will see.

3// What is your favorite down time activity?

Blogging. Or sleeping – both of which I never actually get to do much of!

4// Tell us something we don’t know about you….
Tausha: Growing up, I did Taekwondo for like 7 years. I’m actually a second degree black belt & a Utah state champion. Ha. Don’t ask for pictures. They are hidden deep, deep away. Not like I’m ashamed or anything – but I stopped as soon as I got into High School, then went to Cosmetology school & got my license & stopped being so hardcore.

5// Favorite drink: alcoholic or not?
Tausha: Oh man. I could go for a Mai Tai right about now. Darn breastfeeding. I don’t drink much because I am so scared to ‘poison’ my milk – so I only drink after Presley is asleep for the night & at that point I’m way to tired to mix a drink! I love me so Starbucks though!

6// Favorite song of the summer?

Tausha: RUDE! Oh my gosh. I can’t get enough of this song. And the viral video of the Dad with the comeback song. Ha. Genius.

7// Did you play sports in school? if so what? Were you good? Get any medals etc?
Tausha: Just karate – then I went to hair school full time after 3 hours of High School – so I got out of all physical activity requirements! Booyah!

8// Do you and Chad have any pet names? What are they?
Tausha: Ha. I call him ‘baby daddy’ or ‘sugarplum’ and he calls me ‘momma’, or ‘sugar momma’.

9// What would be your ideal DREAM vacation? Be descriptive, the more the better!
Tausha: Oh man. I’d go on a cruise. I love cruising. Presley would be a little bit older, sleeping better & talking. So we could swim, and party & have fun as a family. I’d love to go on a long 10-14 day cruise to the Bahamas, or something super tropical. I’d take a million pictures & would be tan & in heaven the entire time!

10// Do you have a bucket list? What kinds of things are on it?
I totally do! I actually had a tab on my old blogger layout that I deleted to keep private. I do keep a bucket list in my planner to try and do things on a monthly basis….some of the bigger things:
-Travel to Africa to do humanitarian work
-Live the homeless lifestyle for 2 weeks
-Run in a marathon
-Go an entire month without sugar

Isn’t she wonderful ladies and gentlemen?! I adore her! <3

sunday social 7/13/14

1. Tell us about the family you grew up in, parents, siblings, grandparents.

I grew up in a standard family structure. Mom, Dad, two older sisters and an older brother who lived with my grandparents/friends. Then I also found out when I was 13 that I had a long lost, adoptee sister who had just found us. It was great. My family was always wonderful and my parents sadly didn’t survive and divorced when I was 10 also.

2. Tell us about your husband, fiancé, boyfriend, significant other.

My husband is the person who saved me from drowning within my life… if that makes any sense. He saved me. My sanity. All of it. His name is Sean and we have been together for 5 years in September 2014. He is currently working at Dominoes Pizza (his new job, for now- not his life long dream but will pay the bills etc).
He just came home today and told me that they want him to start training for manager experience so he can be at his own store eventually! He just started 3 days ago! HOW COOL!?!? I’m so excited for him and our new journey….

3. Tell us about your children. If you don’t have children, talk about your fur children.

We have two dachshunds named Bouncer (boy) Maggie (girl). They are amazing dogs, not so well trained or behaved but we are still working on that. Bouncer is 2 and Maggie is 1 and a half.

4. Tell us about your best friends. How long have you known them? How did you meet?

I have a few VERY VERY geat friends but in my personal life, I have abused the words “best friend” so I will not use them today. I have a couple wonderful ladies that are constantly in my life and circle. I do not know what I’d do without them.
Stevie: I have known her for 4 years since right after I was married. Let’s just say we bonded over the same enemies. We met online and we have been super uber close ever since. We took a fun trip together to the beach and we have tons of inside jokes. She’s the peanut to my butter and the crutch to my broken ankle- which for her happens a lot (KLUTZ).
Victoria: 4 years as well. I met her through a ex-friend of mine and through blogging, she got me into it and I will forever be grateful that Igot the best hobby ever because of her. I cannot believe I have been doing this for so long and I owe it all to her. She is a wonderful person who has made me grow up so much that needed to happen and I love her honesty and light way she looks at life. She is an encouraging person and is always there for me when I need her.

5. Tell us about any other special people in your life.
Tausha Wierlo: She’s an amazing person, woman, mother and wife. I do not even know her a sliver of how I wish I did but we do text often and email pretty frequently too. We comment and stay in touch and I just wish we lived in the same state. Maybe one of these days we can meet face-to-face and be IRL friends! I love her blog you have got to check it out and tell her I sent ya here
Kerri Waller: I found her through a tweet I got from her and she was the sweetest ever. I have had several converstaions with her and the more we talk almost daily- the more we find we have in common. From movies and TV to morals and family life and our pasts, its kinda uncanny to find such a great friend thats so much like me. I love her dearly and so glad we have bonded over the last month or so, hope our friendship can continue to grow and stay strong!
Erin: This lady. This beautiful soul. She is phenomenal. I’ll tell you one thing she is the epitome of who I’d like to be in my walk through faith. She has a gracious heart and she knows how to speak to you and make you feel so at ease. I have had several converstaions with her via chats and emails and she has eased my worried heart and calmed my mind on more than one occasion. I love her to pieces and I can’t get enough of her!

a gem of a man

Hello 2013!

I will tell you one thing, living in Oregon- oh boy its freaking cold! Brrr… freezing my nuggets off..(if i had nuggets like husband said)

This is what’s been up with me today basically.. lounging.

Hot Booties- keeps your cold feet warm like a heat pack, pop in microwave for 1 minute and you have warm feeties!
Playing my new ( i thought it was broken) portable super ninetendo.. AWESOME!
 with all the favorites!

 Roast tonight! Yummy!~

My cookbooks, that I got for Christmas and I cant take cred for dinner- that was all hubby!

Last night was fun, sat around, saw some friends we hadn’t seen since their baby came into the world and that was nice. I got caught up on the end of seasons Sister Wives..and awaiting Pretty Little Liars January 8th @8pm.

Thought I should blog something and plan a few others. I hope everyone had a great and safe NYE!

We kissed at midnight and that’s all I wanted….

A few days ago our friend & best man Alex came to say goodbye to leave for the army in 2 days now. January 3rd 2013 The U.S Army is getting a gem of a man. I love and care about him so, I cried and cried but its just basic training for now so… we’ll see and he better come home safe.

(any encouraging words are appreciated)

It was the toughest thing I think I’ve ever had to do thus far..  I have not known anyone really close to go into the military and well it scares me as it does everyone else.

So I’ll pray for him every night until we see him again in a year or so when our lives have drastically changed… with a house, and maybe a baby of our own. He has been a little brother to my husband and now a little brother to me- he makes me laugh and laugh so hard I cry, I can talk to him about almost anything, he can hold a conversation and is a very smart and courageous young man. He’ll turn 21 while he’s gone.. bummer but I know he’ll have fun! I hugged him goodbye and instantly started bawling.. he came back for his coat and I couldn’t contain my sadness. That’s all… he was gone. However I’m cheering up my hubby and I am I very confident he’ll come back perfectly fine. So no worries…

That’s all I’ll say for now but just keep him in your thoughts & prayers if you would.

Photobucket

on our wedding day, he was still 17.. youngin’… I’m proud of you!

Love you Al!~

sicker than a dog

hello everybody! 🙂

Isn’t Oprah the BEST!

I have been out of commision blogging the last few days because I have been pretty darn sick.

Sicker than a dog sick.

(I want a pug but this one time at Hannah: The Pet Society we heard one having like a panic attack and it was SO loud and sad wheezing… she had car anxiety. It was really sad)

Anyway here are my symptoms:

  • Coughing
  • Sneezing
  • Headache
  • High Fever
  • Congestion
  • *sniffles*
  • Mucus- that lovely thing.
  • Sore and Scratchy Throat

Pretty much the whole bag ‘o beans!

No fun, really no fun when Monday night fever came on at 102.2 and I thought I was gonna die. No joke. I’m scared of high fevers and I don’t know what but they are dangerous and that freaks me out. So my husband and our best man/friend took care of me- it was so sweet really.

I was miserable. HOT. SWEATY. COLD. FEVERISH. COUGHING.

end of story.

I’m back to blogging and hoping to gain more lovely friends and comments from all of you!
