November Intentions

novemberintentions

I’ve been making intentions and setting goals each month for over a year now. If you want to go see past posts you can click here. Having goals for the future and intentions on what I want to accomplish now shows you what you’re working towards and how far you’ve come. This is in hopes of you also linking up with Hodge Podge Moments and telling us yours. Here’s a refresher of my October Intentions were and also whether I feel like I met them or not:

  1. Stick to my blog schedule M/W/F/Sun
  •  schedule time to brainstorm and write blogs
  • Schedule social media with Hootsuite
  • Make use of #powerhour with Pamela and Raewyn

I did really good with this one and I think I met everything I set out to do. On my phone I have a master list of ideas that I built on more and pulled from for October and November. Late night #powerhour with Pam and Rae and scheduled social pretty well this past month.

2. Keep house in order (chore days & weekends catch up)

  • Laundry-Tuesday or Thursday
  • Dishes-at use or at nights before bed
  • Vacuum-Wednesdays
  • Shorties Cage: Saturday
  • Tidy- Daily

I would say I accomplished this section too as I didn’t have a schedule but the house has stayed and been maintained clean for awhile now. I have been cleaning Shorties’ cage and feeding her regularly as well. CHECK!

3. Create a daily routine

  • Make and follow a morning routine
  • Make and follow a nightly routine

Did NOT do this. BOO! FAIL! We got on a bad sleep schedule and I messed my whole life up. Feeling a  lag for over a week or two now so I’m trying to change that. And at least get up earlier to get motivated and be a productive adult. Making a routine will help so it’s on my to do list for sure.

4. Organize/Update Blog

  • make drafts/brainstorm re-do pages (Emily Finta)
  • create idea for uniform graphics
  • create categories and update tags
  • mission statement & welcome page

I didn’t get to this either although I have been randomly updating tags, categories and some lacking blog posts. That’s something right? I’ll work on this more over the next month or so when I’m able to take on more.

5. Create a self love/self care time daily-weekly

  • write daily in instant happy journal
  • read excerpt from find your happy daily mantras
  • write a bit in 52 weeks of ….. happiness/list project books
  • read/listen to a self growing type of book (audible, blog related or like “complaint free world”

This was a 50% type of thing, I did pretty well but not my best. I have been pampering myself such as sweets, cuddle time and face masks. Also I have been taking lots of time to write but not as much to read- that’s to be worked into my daily schedule as well. Soon my dears! Cheer me on!

6. Learning Hour-make the blog better, streamlined and grow it

  • do things about learning how to make the blog better
  • read ebooks, webinars and posts about growing, social media etc.
  • newsletter business
  • batch-writing and blog scheduling

Learning hour has been helpful and I know I can and will do more. I’ve watched some webinars and taken lots of notes but nothing further than that. Batch writing is commencing so maybe this week/weekend will be a test phase for that one. I’m still determined to get a newsletter up and running as well so let’s jump on that business bandwagon. What do you think of a blog newsletter? Do you have one? Is it necessary for growth? Helpful, in what ways?

novintentionspin

These are my intentions and goals for November:

1.Keep my blogging schedule M/W/F/

  • Brainstorm and come up with original ideas
  • Schedule social media with Hootsuite a week at a time
  • #powerhour with Pamela and Raewyn each night

2.Keep house in order (weekends as catch up)

  • Laundry 1x weekly as needed
  • Dishes daily (help from roommate on weekends)
  • Vacuum weekly and tidy daily as needed

3. Plan out and create a daily routine (make blog post out of it)

  • make some daily structure (get up, shower, get dressed, feed dogs, blog hour, clean time, make meals, read, write, etc)
  • make a nightly routine and find a sensible bedtime that works for me (to get tired again)

4. Organize Update Blog

  • create uniform graphics for posts
  • work on tags/categories/update archived posts in blog
  • sketch out design/layout of pages for Emily Finta

5. Take time (more structured*) for self love (including: writing, reading and self care)

  • face masks, hot showers, tea and a good book, writing in IHJ daily and on time (get caught up today)
  • write in 52 weeks of…….. books for grateful and thankfulness
  • continue and finish “You are a Badass” on audible- perhaps while blogging, take any notes needed for growth

6.Learning Hour-make the blog better, streamlined and grow it

  • read e-books, webinars and posts about growing, social media etc.
  • newsletter (GET IT GOING! SCHEDULE IT by October 15th)
  • batch-writing and blog scheduling ( needs to be done daily with Social Media batching weekly)

So, I hope I can progress further than I did last month. I didn’t get much accomplished. However, starting off this month strong by batch writing and sharing everything effectively gives me hope. I’d love to know what your goals or intentions are. Updating my stats as well to see how far I’ve come in the last year will be exciting. Good Luck and Happy November!

October Intentions

october16intentions

A whole new month is upon us and geez how fast did October get here?? Three more months of 2016- Can you believe it?! I usually do monthly goals posts and I think I only missed September in the madness of moving and unpacking- but they got achieved which is the truth. We’ve finished everything we wanted to get done fast. I’ve been getting back on my blogging game and with the help of Pamela and these goals- I hope to slide out of 2016 with a lot logged in my archives and a new audience who’s excited for TPM in 2017! Here’s a small break down of each goal and achievable steps to get there; mine and Pam’s were a lot alike but working together makes daydreams come true- so here’s to us!

September Goals

septembergoals

A fresh start. A new month. Fall will be here before we even notice. I feel like this year has flown by-it’s no joke we are more than half done with 2016; isn’t that just CRAZY?! So let’s jump right in and share what our September Goals are.

stick to budget

We have carefully divvied up the budget just how we need to with food, bills, debt and rent (and what’s left over is a decent amount) and savings to a point we agreed upon. We have a tend to over spend and it gets away from us before we know it. We need to be really conscious of our pennies just so we can learn and be aware of it. I’ve seen a HUGE amount of progress in us and we aren’t nearly as spontaneous with our money now, we are much more planned out.

read 2-3 books

I’ve been into books and audio books a lot lately especially on an app called Tun.In. Lately it’s been Yes Please by Amy Pohler and it’s self narrated which I love! She couldn’t have done a better job. I enjoy her comedy and movies anyway so no doubt I’d love the book. I also am starting “A Complaint Free World” which I won in the group I talked about at the beginning of the month in a 7 day complaint free challenge that changed my LIFE. I loved it! I am still using the skills and building on them daily. SO my goal for this month is two (or more) books completed, that’s the kicker!

move and keep new house clean

I want to move in and have it feel like home but NOT be a pigsty right off the bat. I will be more conscious of take it out, use it, wash it, put it away. Vacuum regularly. Dust. Laundry-Fold-Put away. I tend to do things halfway, so for me it’s all about completion and not being lazy. And making the two guys, help me when I need them. (ha ha) No really, they will- they always do. I appreciate it so much!

eat at home

Don’t go out. It’s not convenient on your wallet when we have a kitchen full of food and two hands to make food. Quit being lazy and learn to cook something new. Follow a recipe. Create a new meal. Ask for help. Eat nutritious and healthiest you possibly can because you’ll feel better in the end as well. Plus you stay more full longer and have 3-5 square meals versus junk all day. Once and a while of a “nice cheat meal” is okay but less than our usual. We have a crockpot, grill, and need to cut back on soda and other junk- so that’s what I want to work towards.

marriage more

Let’s face it- no one’s marriage is perfect but ours is pretty great! That being said, sometimes I have a tendency to drift and create space between my partner and myself. Totally not even on purpose but it happens and tends to really hurt our relationship. I would like to start taking the dogs on nightly walks, watching movies together more,  have nice dinners together and make our intimate time a priority. Two people aren’t always on the same page and well, it needs to change. I want to feel completely connected to my husband.

blog regularly

I have a project (or 10) in the making so stick around and hopefully I won’t lose ya. There’ll be some transitions in the next month or sooner. I’ve been crazy lazy this summer and well May/June stunk for being a good little blogger. I aim to blog regularly 3-4 times a week. Either M/W/F and Sunday for Bloggy Brunch OR T/TH/Sunday. Sometimes it’s off like this week is a M/Th/Fri/Sun- still 4x a week. So I’m happy as long as the ideas and drafting build up and go well. I want o share my heart and my thoughts in a deeper more meaningful way. Some things coming up are:

| So go check those exciting things out! 🙂

Thanks for reading and sticking with me! Leave a memo down below and tell me what you’re looking forward to in September!

I can’t wait to move. EEK! 9/10/16

May Monthly Intentions: Being Thorough

may monthly intentions

If you’d like to join us you can see how HERE and read through Pamela’s Monthly Intentions archive since January. Here’s my small goals for this month and how I plan to achieve them.

May Intention:

Thorough

Define It:

  1. Create topics that nail and stay specific for my blog (Marriage, Personal Growth/Stories, Pets and Linkups)
  2. Focus on a real outline, good content, valid points and a wrap up/conclusion-ending message or question, something to leave them thinking about
  3. Add in quality pictures/stock that can be customized and vamped up with branding
  4. Work on titles and SEO; if possible

Oddball:

  1. Keep the apartment clean and orderly
  2. Keep reading nightly/every few days- finish one book in May

I like to do monthly goals usually but I really like this intentions post and how specific and narrow it makes me work more efficiently. Don’t take my word for it- try it yourself this month and link up!

Monthly Intention & April Goals

monthlyintentionsAprilGoals

This month was difficult, boring and  completely uneventful. Then last week, I got very unmotivated and lost my consistency. And for that, I am sorry. So March for me was a F L O P.  But I hope it was better for you.

This month I’m gonna kill it! I am re-motivated and I’m just in a different more personal state-of-mind. I want to get my blog and myself re-centered and back in control. For April I’m going to focus on a monthly intention as a small step back to my normal routine and re-emerge into my blog spacePamela (Hodge Podge Moments blog) does this linkup once a month or so, you can find the details here on that. I’m brand new to it so let’s try this together-just breathe and take the pressure off.

(I’m going to use the same format that she does for my ease):  I completely agree with what Pamela said below, so these are her words NOT mine.

“There’s nothing I can do about March, but I can look ahead to April and set new goals to help me move forward. I’m using the Monthly Intention format again. Make sure you’re subscribed to Blog Intentions to get the free printable each month!”
April Intention:
 Passion
Define It:
1. Discover what I want to blog about
2. Have honest intent on writing and being throughout
3. To love what I do
4. To help others in any subject I know- I may be able to advise and have empathy for others in situations I’ve been through
Oddball:
1. Organize closet and purge a few clothes
2. Read one book this month
3. Get back to blogging regularly
Personal Goals:
  1. Start reading at night instead of playing games on my phone
  2. Rearrange outdoor storage closet
  3. Srink more water
  4. Have a couple date nights but try not to eat out and cook at home regularly

Blog Goals:

  1. Update my blog and social media numbers on my goals page
  2. Update tattoo page-in progress
  3. Re-categorize and label all posts, blog spring cleaning/maintenance
  4. Stay focused on linkups and sharing all posts via social media

I’m going to do my best on this, I made it short but sweet for that purpose alone. I got way off track somehow and tried to keep writing with some sense of consistency but eventually just withdrew.

I hope you’ll understand and continue to keep reading and I can only imagine that you will pull something away from this place of mine. Now I have to stop apologizing and just keep writing.

Be sure to link up with Pamela and leave me a comment telling me what your goals are for the month.

Hope you’re having a good day!
